Learning Tools

Here are some great learning tools that we use at school that can also be accessed at home. Simply click on the picture and it will connect you to the learning link.

RazKids

I am happy to inform you that your child has access to hundreds of eBooks using the school's subscription to Raz-Kids, www.raz-kids.com. Students can read, listen to, and even self-record reading these books. Reading-comprehension quizzes along the way show the progress that he/she is making. They can access assignments on a computer, tablet, or phone, by going to www.raz-kids.com/login/kriswooten, and using the teacher username kriswooten.

Starfall Learning

This website is designed to engage your child's interest in phonics and reading with fun, interactive cartoons.

XtraMath

We are using a web-based program called XtraMath to increase speed and accuracy in arithmetic. Your child is invited to spend a few minutes each day practicing math on the computer.

Go to xtramath.org and watch the short “Overview” and “Getting Started” videos. Click Enroll . You will be asked for a student enrollment code.

For an iPad search the App Store for XtraMath and complete enrollment within the XtraMath app. After this quick process, your child will be able to do XtraMath from home. Please complete the steps in this flyer even if Christopher has done XtraMath in the past. This will ensure that existing accounts are linked to my classroom.

TODO Math App

Todo Math is aligned to K to 2nd grade Common Core State Standards curriculum. We support students as they build concrete mathematical concepts, progress through coherent CCSS-aligned missions, and provide rigorous fluency practice for all learners. To support kindergarteners who arrive at school without having mastered pre-academic math skills we offer ample Pre-K activities aligned with the Head Start program.

Epic App

Encouraging reading is one of the most important things you can do to help your child succeed. But finding the right books can be tough. One way to find books is by using a wonderful new eBook service called “Epic!” - it’s like a Netflix for children's eBooks with thousands of high-quality books.

The service is free for teachers, but Epic! can only afford to do this if enough parents sign up for the Home Version, which is $4.99/month and includes a 60 day free trial.

If you’d like to try it, just use the promo code: “EPICREADS” at www.getepic.com/promo.

Happy reading!
